SCOPE: As the Sales Manager, you will play a vital role in driving UAIC’s growth by leading and managing our direct-to-consumer sales initiatives.
You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to increase sales, enhance customer acquisition, and build lasting relationships with clients in the competitive insurance market.
This position offers an 85% remote work arrangement, providing the ideal candidate with the flexibility to work from their preferred location within the Southeast region.
While most work can be done remotely, occasional travel may be required.
DUTIES: Develop and implement a comprehensive direct-to-consumer sales strategy, considering market segmentation, product positioning, and pricing strategies.
Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and adjust the sales strategy accordingly.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align sales goals with overall business objectives.
Recruit, train, and supervise a team of direct sales representatives, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to achieve individual and team targets.
Foster a positive and high-performance culture within the sales team through effective communication, coaching, and mentoring.
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, share best practices, and address challenges.
Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and retention metrics.
Implement performance improvement plans and provide ongoing feedback to team members to enhance individual and team performance.
Utilize data-driven insights to continuously optimize sales strategies and tactics.
Collaborate with marketing leadership to design and execute customer acquisition campaigns, leveraging various channels such as digital marketing, social media, and direct mail.
Develop and implement retention strategies, including customer loyalty programs and personalized communication initiatives.
Analyze customer feedback and work with cross-functional teams to address issues and enhance the overall customer experience.
Coordinate with product development teams to stay informed about new offerings and market trends, ensuring alignment with customer needs and expectations.
Work closely with underwriting teams to streamline the policy issuance process, minimizing delays and improving overall efficiency.
Collaborate with customer service teams to address post-sales inquiries, concerns, and escalations, fostering a seamless customer journey.
Generate regular reports on sales performance, providing insights into trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Conduct in-depth analyses of sales data, customer behavior, and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to drive informed business decisions.
Ensure that all direct-to-consumer sales activities adhere to industry regulations, compliance standards, and company policies.
Implement quality assurance measures to guarantee accuracy and completeness of customer information, policy details, and documentation.
Develop and deliver training programs for the direct sales team to enhance product knowledge, sales skills, and compliance awareness.
Stay informed about industry best practices and incorporate continuous learning opportunities for the team.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3+ years of experience in sales, with at least 1 year of leadership experience within the insurance industry preferred.
Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing sales teams.
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
