Job Purpose
Herc Rentals is seeking an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor to teach in-person English at our Miami Branch Locations.
Content should include Reading & Writing and Speaking & Listening.
with a focus on readiness for life and for work in the construction industry.
This position is for in-person instruction only.
This is a contract position with approximately 5-20 hours of work.
Duties and Tasks:
Teach during business hours and early evening.
Demonstrate student centered, communicative teaching methodologies (task-based, problem-based, project based, scaffolding, content-based) in lesson planning and in lesson presentation.
Develop authentic, reliable, ongoing productive formative assessments for students throughout the semester.
Utilize the assigned textbook(s) and supplement with level-appropriate materials as needed.
Evaluate students’ entry and exit skills via the initial diagnostic tasks and final departmental exams and the department rubrics.
Record student attendance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Fluent in Spanish
Has English as a Second Language Credentials (TESOL Certificate)
Exposure to Learning Management Systems.
Organizational skills and classroom management skills
Ability to work with groups of varying ages and skill levels – including differentiating instruction.
Ability to work independently.
