Research Methods Professor to teach in the PsyD in the Clinical Psychology Program of Albizu University – Miami Campus
Albizu University is seeking qualified applicants for a 12-month, full-time faculty position for its APA accredited PsyD program in Clinical Psychology.
The 30-hour work week for a full-time faculty has 2 days of remote work.
The part-time work week is 20 hours with up to 2 days of remote work based on the schedule of courses.
Beginning Date: Spring 2024 or before is available.
General Responsibilities:
This position is primarily designed to teach statistics courses.
Mentoring students in their dissertations is also a primary responsibility for the Statistics Professor position.
Courses will be assigned according to the professor's specialization, areas of competency, or interests.
As a full-time professor, the successful candidate will have specific responsibilities supporting the Program's teaching, training, and student mentoring activities, as assigned by the Academic Program Director.
Will participate in faculty and program accreditation committees and campus and institution-wide meetings when required.
Student advisement and career mentorship are essential aspects of our faculty's responsibilities.
Faculty members of the Program also do scientific and scholarly activities and present their findings at regional, national, or international conferences.
These responsibilities support the University and the Program's vision, mission, and goals in alignment with APA's Standards of Accreditation.
Specific Responsibilities:
1.
Teaches three courses per semester.
2.
Prepares course syllabi and materials, including lectures and exams.
3.
Submits student grades to the Registrar's Office by the deadline.
4.
Participates in the development and administration of Comprehensive Doctoral Examinations.
5.
Supports student’s work with their doctoral research projects.
6.
Participates in the student admission process.
7.
Performs student advisement.
8.
Participates in the accreditation process.
9.
Supports and Monitors students in remediation plans.
10.
Participates in all faculty meetings.
11.
Conducts mid-term and final student evaluations for each course or didactic activity.
12.
Submits required academic reports and forms in a timely and accurate manner.
13.
Actively participates in institutional meetings and committees.
14.
Maintains required work hours, including posted office hours.
15.
Participates in the Annual Graduation Ceremony.
16.
Reports to the Director of Clinical Training (DCT).
20.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Training.
Minimal Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in Research Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods or Psychology with a strong foundation in statistics and research methods.
Have scientific research methods in behavioral sciences as a primary area of expertise and interest.
Has published and made presentations in their areas of interest.
Has experience working in higher education, preferably teaching at the graduate level and supervising students in their dissertation and in their work with research projects.
